Christmas is over and I'm left with a few extra kilos as always. Damn all that good food and candy.
Need to start the new year with a diet again and a few extra trips to the gym.
We had a wonderful christmas this year. I thought Norah would be a bit shy when Santa showed up
but she just walked up to him and said hi. It looked really cute and funny. Frida got pretty much everything she
wanted so she was more then happy.
Tomorrow is New Years eve. Doesn't feel like it at all. It's not the same feeling anymore. Maybe I'm getting old : )
We're going to my sisters so that should be fun. Good food and good company . Frida says she's gonna stay up till 3 but we'll see.
She's so happy on new years 'cause it's the one day she gets to stay up for as long as she likes. It's amazing how long she can actually stay awake.

Watched Mamma mia the movie last night and really enjoyed it. Ok, the cast couldn't really sing all that good and it was
a bit silly here and there but I couldn't help smiling my way through this film. A feel good film that makes you wanna sing and dance and get on the first plane to Greece. Mamma mia here we go again .....

Här är receptet om någon skulle vilja koka själv :

100g smält smör eller margarin

1 1/2 dl socker

1 1/2 dl ljus sirap

4 msk kakao

1 msk vaniljsocker

Blanda alla ingredienserna i en tjockbottnad kastrull och sjud

5 minuter under ivrig vispning. Häll sedan upp kolan i knäck formar.

Låt stelna .

Blir ca 30 st kolor.

Jultider

Ja ha då var det måndag igen då. Har haft en rätt okej helg förutom att Norah har varit sjuk igen. Ungen måste ju verkligen hålla på att jobba upp ett rejält immunsysytem så ofta som hon är sjuk. Nu var det feber och dålig mage. Hon är gnällig som bara sjutton i dag men febern är ju borta i alla fall. Ska börja jobba i januari så jag hoppas verkligen hon inte kommer vara sjuk lika ofta då. I fredags var vi och hälsade på dagiset hon ska börja på. Fick ju inget dagis runt knuten precis men personalen verkade helmysiga så det ska nog bli bra ändå. Har lite klump i magen eftersom hon är så liten än men vi får hoppas att hon kommer in i det snabbt.
Brorsans tös fyllde 4 i veckan så vi var där på kalas i lördags. Fick bli jag och Frida som åkte eftersom Norah var dålig. På vägen hem så åker vi förbi ett hus som är ganska så över pyntat. Vi snackar julbelysning i USA stil och renar och motorcyklar i träden.
Jag - Shit dom har slagit på stort ser jag .

Happy toothless kid !!!

Frida lost her first tooth today and she was very happy about it ! She's been waiting forever and she was the last one in her class that hadn't lost a tooth yet so imagine the happiness !

The weekend has gone by really fast. Saturday we were baking " lusse bullar " and gingerbread and listened to christmas music till I almost puked.
Got into a real christmas kind of feeling.
Today we've been to little Nathali's name giving ceremony. It was very nice and she was a real angel. Lots of good stuff to dig in on after words as well : ) That's always nice.

As always the weekend just fly by. We've decorated and made the house christmas like and also bought almost all the christmas presents this weekend. So that feels good. You always have the little things to buy right before christmas anyway but the big stuff are ready now. Woo hoo I've never been this organized ! Since we have a fake tree we've already put that up as well. Might as well enjoy it for as long as possible. Lights up the house nice too. I can't believe how early it gets dark now. Very depressing. I light candles every chance I get.
Just came back from watching Daniel play hockey. Frida was running around with her cousin so I didn't see much of her.
Norah had already gone to bed so I didn't get a chance to say good night but I'm sure she'll wake up at least 2 or 3 times tonight so I'll get my chance then.
She must be going through some period of not sleeping good right now. I hope it will stop soon 'casue I need a good night sleep.

This was as far as I was allowed to follow them.

I just put Norah down for a nap. Normally she tosses around and cry a little when I walk out of the room and I have to go in there 3 or 4 times before she decides that she might as well sleep for a bit. But today I put her down and she closed her eyes and fell asleep the minute her head touched the pillow. Very strange and unusual but nice. So now I have a few minutes to write before I have to start making lunch.
Frida went to her first disco on Friday night. She was very excited and had a great time. I asked her if she danced much but buying candy had been more fun : ) I asked if she saw any cute boys but she said she hadn't noticed. Funny, I remember running after boys very early : ) She says she's not ready for that yet . She's so funny.
J is in Norway today and tomorrow so I'm all by my self again. Good thing we have a big dog for protection, makes me feel safe.

Spinning

Went to the gym for a spinning class last night. Haven't done that for some time now.
There was a new instructor and my god was she a screamer ! I wanted to scream back at her shut up !!!! I wonder if she screams like that
anywhere else?
But come to think of it when you're sitting there on the bike and you are so tired that you wanna puke and just get off the bike
you hear her scream - come on ! Milk the last bit of energy out ! Hang in there ! It actually works and you don't wanna be a quitter no matter how much you want that screaming bitch in front of you to shut up right at that moment. You keep going ....and you wake up the next day and think man
my arse hurt like hell today! Every time I sit down I just wanna scream. Good thing the kids keep me up on my feet pretty much all day : )

My weekend

Linda came home for a visit this weekend so we gathered the girls and men( for a change )
and had lunch together on saturday. It's always fun to chit chat about everything new.
There are kids running around everywhere and more on the way so pretty soon I guess we'll have to rent
a place to meet : ) Linda's belly is growing and she's half way through her pregnancy now. I think it's a girl but
I'm normally wrong so it's probably a boy. We'll see in about 20 weeks : )

Yesterday we went to J's brothers house and he helped J change to winter tires. Then we played guitar hero Rock band. Oh man, I'm like a kid when those games come out. It's so much fun !!!! Frida tried the drums but realized singing is more for her : ) It's a lot harder then it looks to play the drums. I've played real drums when I was younger and that's almost easier. I think we need to have a guitar hero party soon !!! Who's on ?

It's her cousin Lisa who is walking next to her. She's been riding since she was really small so she helps Frida on her lessons and afterwards taking care of the horse. I'm very thankful for that !!!

I hurt so bad .....

Went to the gym for the first time in a very long time yesterday.
My god do I hurt today ! It keeps getting worse by the hour too !
I really don't want to know how I'll feel tomorrow when I'm suppose to work out again.
Oh well it's the same every time but after a while you're back in the game and fit for fight.
Tuesday and "horse day " for Frida. I'm slowly getting more and more relaxed around the horses.
Frida is in heaven every tuesday, she just loves it! I'll try to take some pictures today that I can put on the blog.

All by myself

Just finished watching Idol as usual on Fridays. It was a rock theme this week and as always
Kevin rocked it !!! I can't see anyone else be the final winner !
Haven't had much time to blog this week. J is in Scotland till Sunday so I'm busy from early morning till late night.
It's tough being alone with the kids and the dog. When the kids go to bed I've been dead tired.
Norah is doing a lot better now. The arm is healing very well. She's starting to loose the damaged skin now and you can see
healthy skin underneath. I'm so glad she's ok again.
Frida is going to a birthday party tomorrow with a "Tingeling" theme, not sure if she's called tinkerbelle or something in english.
Everyone is going to dress up as either Tingeling or a princess. She's very excited as you can imagine a 7 year old girl would be.
Well I'm off to bed now to watch a bit of Tv before drifting off to sleep....sleep tight everyone

Norah's been in hospital

Saturday morning I was making breakfast and put my newly made teacup on the kitchen counter while making sandwiches. Somehow God knows how Norah reached up there and pored the whole cup of hot tea all over her arm. She was screaming like crazy and I pretty much freaked out. Luckily J was very calm and put her in the shower with cold water before we took her to the ER. They looked at the arm and sent us to the hospital in Örebro instead. They thought it looked like second degree burn so we had to stay over the weekend to keep and eye on her. She also needed some extra fluid in her body so she got that through a sond( don't know the english word ) in her nose. I stayed the 2 nights with her and she was so brave the whole time even though it must have hurt like hell. Yesterday a plastic surgeon looked at the arm and luckily it was much better then they thought from the start. It was only second degree burn on her elbow and the rest of the arm and hand was first degree so that will heal by itself in a few weeks time. I was so happy to hear that 'cause I've been feeling so guilty over this the whole weekend. Why did I put the tea cup there and why didn't I see that she reached up there and so on...although I know these things happen so fast , you always wanna protect your kids from everything bad. She was very happy to come home again and she's playing with her toys and seems to be doing fine. We have to give her painkillers of course every 6 hours so she wont be in pain and we need to get the elbow checked out every other day to make sure she's not getting an infection but if everything goes well she should be healed ok in a few weeks time.

First snow and sick baby

First snow has fallen down today. Frida loves it and had to run outside straight away this morning. I wish I felt that excited about snow.
I don't really like snow anymore, I so live in the wrong country !!! It's fun to go skiing and stuff but really how often do I get a chance to do that these days ? Hardly ever I would say ! So f**k the snow I crave sunshine right now.
J and I have been up all night with Norah who once again decided to get sick. We're not sure what's up with her. She was screaming for maybe 2 or 3 hours straight and finally through up. It was impossible to get her calm so J gave her some painkillers and then she finally fell asleep for a while. Of course she woke up every other hour and this morning she had a fever. Poor thing I hope she'll get better soon. She's been sick a lot lately and it's no fun for anyone !!! I want my smiling baby back again !
Tonight I'm watching Idol of course. I hope sweet Kevin makes it through even when forced to sing in Swedish.

Frida has a week off from school, autumn break I guess you can say. She's very happy to sleep longer in the morning.
Since the whole family are having a cold we can't really go places so we've been trying to think of fun things to do around the house.
Today we took out the sawing machine and Frida made a stuffed cat and a small heart. She was very happy with the result !
We've also been playing lots of junior buzz which is fun as long as Frida is the winner : ) My god , I thought I was a sore looser as a kid but that was nothing in comparison with Frida !!!! Hopefully she'll grow out of it .

Yesterday was quite the day ! Norah turned one and we invited the whole world...well many people, anyway.....I started the day by making cake I'd never tried making before which resulted in me throwing it in the garbage!!! Oh man was I in a mood after that ! Started over again and this time successfully...wohoo back on track. Norah have a bad cold of course and wasn't in her best of moods so baking with a screaming one year old on the arm is not to recommend for a stressed out mom. Then off to pick up Frida from school and start decorating the party house we borrowed, then start making dinner for 25 people. It's the understatement of the year to say that I was stressed ! But somehow I managed to get everything ready in time with a little help from my dear daughter and man friend : )
Everyone seemed to have a good time and the kids loved all the attention and great gifts of course.

Need some sleep

I'm like a zombie right now............I need some serious sleep. Norah was up every other hour all night long!
She's not feeling well , she's caught a cold again poor thing. Talk about bad timing for getting sick since we're having her very first birthday party tomorrow. Since it's Frida's party as well I can't really cancel either. Plus the fact that I have bought food for 25 people so the party is most definitely still on ! Who knows she might feel a lot better tomorrow. Kids tend to bounce back to healthy in no time don't they ....

Frida turned 7 years old yesterday. Where did my little girl go ?
She wanted breakfast in bed as always on her birthday so I set
the alarm at 6.10 and jumped up to start preparing everything.
She wanted an egg sandwich and apple juice in a wine glass ( she thinks it's more fancy that way he he ) , and a candle on the tray and happy birthday song and all her gifts. So at 6.30 sharp we marched into her room to wake her up....well I think she was just pretending to sleep but she played her part well : ) and acted very surprised !
She was very happy with everything so that was good. On friday we're having a birthday party for both the girls since Norah is turning one so the celebrations just keep coming ! I'm making dinner and cake for 25 people so wish me luck !!!

Sucker for romance....

Just finished watching a movie with Patrick Dempsey called the made of honor. I'm such a sucker for romantic movies but even more so for Patrick Dempsey. I love him in Greys anatomy and I loved him in this and I'm sure I'd love him in just about anything : )

Not much have happened this week part from my every day chores, which would bore you so I wont tell you about that.
Instead I thought I'd share a picture of Frida with one of the horses from Botorp where she now is riding every tuesday.
Luckily her cousin Lisa has offered to voluntare to walk next to her with the horse instead of me - Thank god ! I'm terrified of the horses !
It's fun to watch though from a distance....and who knows a few months from now I might be less terrified...

The tv recording we went to on friday was hilarious. I was laughing so much my face actually hurt afterwards. So I'll
definitely go to more things like that. The show is called Tack gode gud and airs sometime at the end of october I think. So keep your eyes open you might get a glimpse of two blonds laughing their heads off.
Rest of the weekend was very relaxing and just what I needed. Good food, great company and lots of not doing much but still having the best of time.

Off to Stockholm tomorrow !

I'm off to Stockholm tomorrow ! Woo hoo ! 3 days to myself in the big city . I'm staying with Linda of course. Tomorrow we're going to watch a tv show be recorded. We're going to be in the audience so that's going to be fun. Never done that before. It's a comedy so I'm sure I'll laugh my head off. Not that it's that hard to get me to laugh normally but this will be different I'm sure. I just hope I'll find my way to Linda's job tomorrow. I'm not that good with directions to places but I guess I can take a cab if I get lost. We haven't planned much else for the weekend which is nice. It's going to be so great just to be able to sleep a whole night and sleep in in the morning. That's luxury for me these days !

Girlfriends over

I guess it's about time I update this blog huh ...so what's new ?
I had my girlfriends over on Saturday night and that was fun. We had dinner and then we just talked and talked and talked all night long like us woman do : ) Linda dropped some big news. She's pregnant!!! It's so exciting ! I can't believe she hasn't said anything for the longest time! I think she's due in the beginning of April. Man are we going to spoil that kid ! It's to bad she lives so far away from here.
We had another drama during the night. Marie had a cold and sounded like she had asthma and during dinner she gets worse and worse so we had to call the hospital and ask for advise. Of course she had to come in and get some medicine. So she left little Dexter with us and he slept in Nina's arms the whole time Marie was gone. Such a cutie. Marie could luckily breath again when she came back so we could all stop worrying. What a night huh?

My weekend

My weekend...

Hours J spent in front of the computer : probably 20 ! ( if you wonder why I haven't blogged )

Hours Frida was away : Also about 20, she spent Saturday at a friends house and then they wanted to have a sleep over.
The house is strangely quiet when she's not around.

Minutes I spent waiting for chinese food to get ready : 40 !!! They said ready in 15 minutes but so not true!

Minutes I spent complaining over the fact that I waited 40 minutes plus being mad about getting the wrong food when I came home and looked in the bag : Probably 10 or so I'm not a very angry person : )

Times our dog through up : 1

Movies I watch : 1 1/2 , Tatuerad Torso and some crap film on TV that I only watched first half of before falling asleep.

Nice realxing bath....yeah right

Last night I wanted to take a nice relaxing hot bath, light a candle , close my eyes and just be. And I did for about 3 minutes. J came up and said he was taking the dog for a walk and left Norah with me. In seconds my nice relaxing bath turned into a circus. No Norah don't touch the toilet brush, no Norah don't touch the candle holder, ooppps my fancy magazine in a thousand pieces....and so on. So I gave up and stepped out of the tub.
But hey those 3 minutes were great !

My turn to get sick

I've caught a cold , I so don't want to be sick right now. I hope I don't give it to Norah who just got better from her last cold.
I feel very sorry for my self when I'm sick. I told J I needed some love and care and he looked at me and said - now ? You want me to get sick too? So loving my man ! For all you men out there ....when your woman isn't feeling well just give her some love !!!

Work day

Sunday and working day in the neighborhood. We have spring and autumn clean up where we live. Everyone is suppose to help out and make sure green areas and children's playgrounds look ok. This only happens twice a year but in our house hold no none really wants to do this so it's a struggle every time.
Today J and Frida went out and I'm staying home with Norah who luckily needed to take her afternoon nap. No one is happier then me right now: ) I just can't tell J that cause he didn't look to happy when he left. Oh well it's only a few hours and they serve hot dogs for everyone so they don't have to work hungry : )
So what am I doing when they are working and Norah is taking a nap you might wonder ? Well I'm surfing the net , having a piece of the chocolate cake that I made this morning and just enjoying life! I guess after J reads this I will have to make an appearance at spring cleaning day !

Parents and stuff

It was the longest parent meeting ever ! Started at 6 and I was back home at 8.45! It was so boring at the end that I could have fallen asleep.
There was a nice mix of parents....everything from the know it all to my child is the best : ) Fun to watch and listen to theses people. Of course there were lots of really nice parents there as well. Now we are divided into 4 different groups that will be responsible for Christmas parties and other events during the school year. I'm so not into these things but I guess you have to be a happy helper.
Norah has slept all through the night 2 nights in a row now. For the first time in 10 months I feel rested! I sure hope this will continue. I'm like a new person. Woo Hoo !

Baby cafe'

I went with Norah to a thing called the baby cafe' today and she absolutely loved it. It's a place where you can go meet other people with kids in the same age. 0-12 months. I think that's great. You can have a cup of coffee and talk with adults that share the same kind of life with small kids right now. It's every Tuesday so I think I will try to go every week while she's small enough. She's 10 months now so it wont be long before we celebrate her first birthday! Time just fly by.
Frida brought a new friend home from school today. It's fun to see how she interact with new friends. Seems to be going good with this one. Normally she and her very best friend Em hang out all the time so I think it's good that she play with some other kids as well.
I'm going to my first parent meeting at school tomorrow. Sounds so grown up : ) It's going to be interesting to see what the other parents are like. Hope for some fun characters...

Headache today

The weekend is over and back to Monday again. I've had a really bad headache all day today so I'm going to go to bed early tonight. Probably right after I've finished writing this. We went to a Rottweiler dog show on Saturday. The rain was poring down as usual so we didn't stay to long but it was fun to see all the gorgeous dogs. Rottweiler's are such great dogs. After that Frida and I went to watch her cousin Daniel play ice hockey while Norah and J took a nap. They lost the game but it was fun to chit chat with my sister and see Daniel play. He's a goal keeper and pretty good I must say. You would think we live in England from how much it's raining this year. I'm fed up with this and wish I could just get on an airplane and go somewhere warm and sunny and lovely and far far away from here....

Finally Friday...and the weekend to look forward to. Haven't planned much since Norah still isn't feeling well. She's been stuck on my arm the last couple of days. Life is a roller coaster you just have to ride it .....as Ronan Keating sang a few years ago. Very true ! One weekend we're at a fancy wedding , next weekend I'm carrying around a screaming baby all day long. Normally such a little bundle of love but right now a monster with a bad cold : )

Swedish Idol started this week and with a new jury. Has anyone noticed how much Andreas looks like Mac in csi New York ? They must be related ! Just look at these pictures and see ....am I right or what ? Mac on the top right and Andreas on lower right or is it ....?

New Idol ?

Idol starts a new season tonight ! I love that program. I hope this year will be just as entertaining as previous years has been. Here's maybe one of the contestants a few years from now : )

Norah with the red nose

J's mom turned 60 yesterday so we went over to their house for some coffee and cake. Norah wasn't feeling so well so we didn't stay to long. She has a cold so her nose is constantly red now. The lack of sleep is starting to effect my mood now. I guess J is the one to get the worst of that, poor thing . A whole night sleep is that to much to ask for ?

Frida really enjoys first grade. She's starting to learn how to read but isn't quite there yet. She slowly puts the letters together and make the sound and when you think she's got it she just guesses a word ....so the reading code is yet to be solved : ) She's much better at math. That comes really easy to her. She should be home soon. They only have school till 13.30. She has soccer practice today so I hope it wont rain to bad this afternoon. Next Wednesday is the last practice out doors. Then they start to play indoors. Can't wait ! It seems to rain every Wednesday so indoors is very welcome now !

The wedding

Now they are Mr. and Mrs. Lundblad ! What a wonderful wedding. The bride was wearing a beautiful dress by Oscar De La Renta that was just breathtaking. It was very romantic and they just glowed with love all day long. The dinner was taking place at the castle and was fabulous of course. Great food and wines and lots of fun speeches. After dinner a band was playing and it turned in to a fantastic party ! For sure one of the best weddings we have ever been to. Unfortunately we forgot our camera so you will have to wait for pictures. I'll ask someone if I can take copies. So sooner or later I'll post some pictures on the blog. I was so tired when we came back home yesterday. I was looking forward to getting to bed early and having a good night sleep but Norah had other plans. She's been so fussy all night long and woke up pretty much every other hour. She has a bit of a cold so I guess that bothers her. So I'm still super tired this morning and I guess I will be for the rest of the day. I will just have to hang in there ! Normally Norah wakes up at 5.45 every single morning like an alarm clock. Every morning ! When I phoned my sister on Sunday morning to hear how the kids were doing she told me Norah woke up at 8.30 . 8.30 !!! Why doesn't she ever sleep till at least 8 when she's at home ! It's just not right !

Going away for the weekend

I'm organizing for the weekend right now. Packing a bag for the kids and trying on my dress. I feel like I need a different pair of shoes to go with the dress. It's crazy to even think of right now, I know but I think I need to buy a new pair of black high heels today. Of course my feet will probably hurt like hell on sunday but hey at least it will look good with the dress : )

Pär and Ulrika are getting married tomorrow at 3 . It's going to be so much fun !!! Castle wedding. I'm going to stay at a castle ! Sweet ! Can't believe how excited I am ! I'll try to take lots of photos of the day. I don't have time to write more now but I'll be back on Sunday with details of my fab weekend ! Or maybe Monday depending on how tired I am : )

Lots to do

I have so much to do today that I get stressed out just thinking of it . After walking the dog this morning I went to the supermarket and did the weekly big shopping. Now I'm home and just put Norah down for a nap. When she wakes up it's lunch and then wait for Frida to come home from school so that we can go down town. I have some serious shopping to do. I need tons of stuff. Lots of little things for the fancy wedding this weekend and also a new jacket and shoes. Then my good friend Marie had a baby boy on Tuesday so we're going to buy something for him. Then I have an appointment to color my eyebrows and eye lashes at 4.30. J has a meeting at 4 so I'm on the hunt for a babysitter which isn't easy!!! Anyone up for the challenge ? Linda and I are going to visit Marie and the baby at the hospital at 6 and after that I've promised to color a friends hair. It's to much stuff for one day! And who said staying at home is like being on vacation ? It's not today or any other day for that matter !

Yesterday in pictures

Always start the day by taking the dog for a 45 minute walk. Yesterday it was poring down with rain today it's sunshine. It doesn't matter what the weather is like we always walk but it's so much nicer when it's like today . Came back and baked some cinnamon buns that came out looking great. Frida loves them so she was happy when she came home from school.
I left Norah alone in the kitchen for a few minutes and this is what I came back to. She was on her way to empty the recycling bin. How much fun is that on a scale from 1 to 10 ? From a babies point of view a 10 for sure. From my point of view it's a 1 for the fact that I have to clean it up. I might add that this was the third time she did this on the same day ! Lovely !

Finally I have to show you this clip of Norah laughing at her big sister. Baby laugh always gets me in a good mood. Have a good one !

Bad mood

I'm a monster today ! I feel annoyed and angry and sad and....so on....
Frida stared at me across the breakfast table this morning and said - Are you on your period or what's wrong with you ?
I had to start laughing of course when a soon 7 year old little girl says something like that, but lets face it she knows me well !
So stay away from me today or I might bite your head off : )

Norah had her 10 month check today. It went well and the lady at the children's centre said she was the happiest child she'd seen today. She was laughing from the minute we stepped in till we left. And she was " talking " and crawling around all over the place. Great that someone in the family is in a good mood today : )

I just called Botorp ( a place where you learn how to ride horses ) and put Frida on a waiting list to start horseback riding. She's been talking about that for ages now so I thought I better let her try it. I'm terrified of horses my self so I don't know how this is going to go!
I know the parents have to help out when they are this young. I might have to go to therapy first to cure my fear of horses. Or maybe J can take her. Nah he most likely wont so we'll see. It might be a few months before she gets the chance to start. They had horses in our neighborhood last saturday that the kids could ride on. Frida did of course and was very proud !

Crayfish party

We're having a crayfish party tomorrow. Both my sisters with families are coming over. Should be fun. I think this is a typical Swedish tradition. I googled crayfish party and found a pretty good explanation :

The crayfish are boiled in salted water and seasoned with fresh dill — preferably "crown dill", harvested after the plant has flowered — then served cold and eaten with the fingers. Akvavit and other snaps are normal accompaniments, as is beer, bread, strong Västerbotten cheese, mushroom pies, and salads and other dishes from the classical Swedish Smörgåsbord. Some say tradition demands "one drink for every claw", but in practice few keep up that pace. Dining is theoretically outdoors, though in practice commonly driven inside by inclement weather or aggressive mosquitoes. Usual accessories are paper tablecloths, bibs, comical paper hats, and paper lanterns, often depicting the Man in the Moon. A rowdy atmosphere complete with noisy eating and traditional drinking songs (snapsvisa) is the norm. It is culturally correct to suck the juice out of the crayfish with a loud slurping sound before shelling it.

First homework and lots of shopping

Frida came home with her first homework today. It was a really big thing for her and she was almost proud I think. She did a very good job and wouldn't let anyone help her cause she wanted to do it her self.

Sara, my good friend from work gave birth to a baby girl this morning. It was her third child and they are going to name her Rebecca. So the girls and I went shopping for some cute baby clothes to give away. I did a lot of shopping today actually. Both girls needed lots of new clothes and shoes. Frida is miss fashion princess. I can't buy any clothes without her being there anymore. Crazy! She's 7 ! You'd think she's 14 the way she acts : ) Oh well she was very happy with her new "cool" clothes so that's good.

Alone time and new hair

I felt the desperate need for a few hours of alone time today so my hairdresser appointment this evening came in handy. I went to my good friend Camilla who I used to work with a few years ago. She's really good so I still let her do my hair even though we don't work at the same place anymore and I do her hair so it's a win win situation : ) I've kept my hair a bit longer for a while now so I decided to cut lots of hair off and then just do some blonde high lights . I'm very happy with the result. What do you think?
Frida starts first grade tomorrow. She's so exited ! Real school finally! She packed her bag pack with all her new school supply's today so she's all ready
We'll see how ready she feels at 6.30 tomorrow morning when she needs to get up....

Olympic day run

Frida ran the Olympic day run yesterday morning. It's a race that Mc Donald's sponsors every year to get kids to enjoy being more active.
She thought it was great. The distance was different depending on the age. Frida ran 800 meters and I think that was plenty for her. She was so proud when she got her medal and diploma. They also got a bag full of gifts from Mc Donald's which I thought was cool. I wonder if they had this thing all over the world or if it's just in Sweden ? It was a great way to get the kids motivated for exercise anyway. More of that !

Girls night

So the girls came over last night. It's so nice when we can all get together. Linda O brought little Nathali and she's so adorable. She's only a month old so she slept pretty much all through the night but at least she had her first girls night : )
We pretty much decided where to go on our trip now. We are saving money every month and when we are 35 ( only 4 years away ) we're gonna go on a trip just us girls. Our goal is New York ! I think that would be so much fun. But if that's not gonna happen I guess Spain is our destination in line. But I'm hoping for New York! I'm thinking Cosmopolitans , shopping, maybe a hockey game and lots and lots of fun must go see places.

Still raining.....actually it's more like a storm now. I've been pretty much stuck in front of the tv today. Olympic games of course.
Swimming and gymnastics have been most fun to watch. Finally track and field tomorrow lets hope some of the swedes do a good job.
Norah isn't feeling well today either but better then yesterday at least. Frida had her best friend over all day today. They've been playing computer games as always when it's bad weather. Part from that they pretended to be hairdressers, singers and store owners : )
Tomorrow Linda is coming home from Stockholm. Woo hoo ! Haven't seen her since her wedding so it's gonna be so much fun. Having a girls night on saturday with all the girlfriends. Lots of fun gossip I hope and some good food and wine. J is going away all weekend. Bachelerparty so he should have some fun too.
They are screaming from downstairs that they have started the movie now so I better finish here......adios !

Not a good day

It's not a very good day today. Baby Norah isn't feeling well at all today. She has high fever and wants to be hold all the time. Poor thing.
It's hard when they can't tell you what's wrong. Hopefully she'll get better soon.
The other bad thing is that people has already started to bid on the house I looked at yesterday and the prize is already up to more then we would like to pay.
So bye bye house ! Feels sad but it's not the end of the world.
Frida is with her grandfather today. He's going to try and teach her how to swim. Good luck ! She refuses to listen to us when we've tried to teach her but maybe grandpa will be a better teacher. She probably listens better to him anyway. With us she already knows everything : )

Sold on the house

So we went to look at the house today. Or I looked at it by myself since J's been home from work today with the worst migraine ever!
Typical! Oh well , they said we could come back later this week to have another look. So we'll do that. I'm already sold on this house but J's a bit more hesitant I think. But I'm a women so I'll win him over if I have to right ; ) There were at least 14 other couples there to look but you never know how many that are truly interested. I pray it's not that many. I guess it's just wait and see. I'm no good at that . I want everything right here right now , I'm like a kid.
Haven't done much else today. It's still poring down rain. Hope tomorrow brings sunshine cause I don't feel much like standing 1 hour in the rain looking at Fridas soccer practice. I'm gonna go lay down and start reading my new book now. Another Michael Connely book. I love his books.

House hunting

We're going to look at a new house tomorrow. I'm so exited !!! Maybe I shouldn't be since there's
other couples looking at the same house but I can't help it. This house would be perfect for us. It's in the same neighborhood where we already live but bigger then the house we have now. There's not to much renovating needs either which of course is perfect. Keep your fingers crossed that the other people wont be near as interested as us and that they wont bid so high !!!

Cuts and color

Long day today....spent a few hours at my job. I promised both my nephews to help them color their hair.
I guess they want to look good before school starts again : ) Can't believe Lisa is 14 now ! After that I did another 4 haircuts. Needy circle of friends ... Can't believe they all get long hair at the same time but they always do. It was fun though and I do enjoy coloring the most.
I need a haircut and color myself right now. Need to have that done before the fancy castle wedding we're going to in 2 weeks. It's going to be so nice to get 2 days of grown up talk : ) Not to mention sleeping at a castle. I guess the wedding it self should be the main thing but I just can't help being more exited about the alone time. The kids are going to stay at my sisters house and the dog at my other sister so I'm sure they are going to have fun as well.
I'm going to put Norah to bed soon and then J and I are going to watch a movie. He wanted to see that new one with Will Smith , forget the name of it . Not sure it's my kind of movie but I'll give it a go.

Track and field

Found these pictures from Frida's last track and field competition in Filipstad. Her number tag is almost as big as her : )
She ran 60m, 400 m and tried long jump. She like 60 meters the most, probably because she does best results there.
She's a very sore looser but luckily everyone who participates gets a medal. I think it's like that till there about 8 years old.
Last couple of weeks she has refused to go to the training because it's been raining. We definitely live in the wrong country if she's going to be a star in this sport : ) ...oh well soccer practice on Wednesday I hope she'll be more positive to the rain then 'cause by the looks of it it just wont stop.

God morgon...eller är det verkligen det ? Själv har jag varit vaken klockan 1, 3 och fem i natt ! Norah håller ju på att få tänder plus att hon verkar vara extra känslig för allt just nu. Härlig kombination ! Ni kanske undrar varför jag bytt bloggsida helt plötsligt. Jag har nämligen tänkt att börja blogga på engelska inom en snar framtid. Har ju många vänner utomlands efter mina år i USA och är urusel på att hålla kontakten. Så jag tänkte att bloggen blir ett perfekt sätt för alla att få se vad som händer i mitt liv just nu. Både för er här hemma och även andra runt om i världen. Tänkte även att det blir ett bra sätt att bibehålla det engelska språket på. Så bli inte förvånade när det dyker upp inlägg på engelska. Vet inte riktigt när jag börjar men förmodligen ganska snart : )
